The brand-new Schroeder Family Exploreum in downtown Joplin is hosting its National STEAM Day Festival, and it is shaping up to be an absolute must-attend event for families, students, and community members of all ages.
Whether you have a future rocket scientist in the family, a budding digital artist, or you just love getting hands-on with cool experiments, this festival is designed to show how fun, vibrant, and essential STEAM is to our everyday lives.

What’s Happening at the Festival?
This isn’t your typical “look but don’t touch” museum experience. Following the recent grand opening of the Exploreum’s incredible North wing, this festival is all about active, immersive participation.
To bring the world of STEAM to life, the Exploreum is teaming up with amazing local manufacturers, healthcare entities, businesses, and organizations. The lineup of community vendors bringing hands-on demonstrations and projects includes:
Tech & Engineering Innovators: EaglePicher Technologies, Liberty, Leggett & Platt, Missouri American Water, Allo, Civil Air Patrol, and Allgeier and Martin.
Science & Nature Experts: Four States Museum of Natural Sciences.
Building Experts: VistaLux
Creative & Community Partners: Spiva Center for the Arts, Joplin Health Department, Crowder College, and Journey Through Slime.
