Before the Thanksgiving meal, gather your family and friends for a Joplin tradition that gives back.
The 15th Annual Joplin Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk, presented by Freeman Health System, takes place Thursday, November 26, in Downtown Joplin. This annual Thanksgiving morning tradition brings our community together for some family fun while supporting the nonprofit mission of the Schroeder Family Exploreum.
Walk, run, bring the kids, or bring the stroller. There’s a place for your whole flock at the starting line!
Pick Your Pace
The 1 Mile Fun Run, sponsored by Schuber Mitchell Homes and Flat Branch Home Loans, begins at 7:30 a.m.
The 5K, sponsored by Kraft Insurance, Crossland, and Butterball, follows at 8 a.m.
Both races start and finish in front of the Schroeder Family Exploreum at 300 S. Main Street in Downtown Joplin.
The morning includes music by Resonation, announcing by BoCa Enterprises, donuts, coffee, and plenty of Thanksgiving morning fun. Registered 5K participants can also look forward to a super soft event shirt, finisher medal, and chip timing.
Every Step Supports the Exploreum
The Joplin Turkey Trot is the Schroeder Family Exploreum’s biggest fundraiser of the year. This isn’t a for-profit race. Proceeds from the Turkey Trot go back to the Exploreum and support our nonprofit mission.
Every registration helps us continue creating opportunities for children and families to learn through hands-on STEAM experiences. It helps provide a place where kids can ask questions, experiment, explore, create, and discover what they can do.
So when you register for the Joplin Turkey Trot, you’re doing more than signing up for a Thanksgiving morning race. You’re investing in curiosity and hands-on learning right here in our community.
Whether you run, walk, volunteer, sponsor, or cheer someone on, you’re helping make that impact possible.
It Takes a Community
A heartfelt thank-you to all of our sponsors, at every level, for making the Joplin Turkey Trot possible. We’re grateful for the businesses that invest in this event, the volunteers who bring it to life, and every participant who joins us at the starting line.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available! Interested in getting your business involved? Email Alaina at [email protected] or Neely at [email protected] to learn how you can get plugged in.
Gather Your Flock
Registration prices increase after September 30, so now is the time to make your Thanksgiving morning plans.
Bring your family. Bring your friends. Bring the stroller. And come be part of a Joplin Thanksgiving tradition that brings our community together while giving back to the next generation.
We’ll see your flock at the starting line!
