Using different colored light sources, Shadow Remix lets you move, play and discover how light interacts with objects. Step in front of the lights, change your position or add a friend and watch as colorful shadows shift, overlap and transform.

Shadow Remix combines science, technology and art in one hands-on experience. As you play, you’re exploring how light travels, how shadows form and how different colors of light interact.
Try moving closer to the light. Then farther away. What changes? What happens when two shadows overlap?

Shadow Remix is one of 28 hands-on exhibits currently open in the Exploreum’s North Wing, with two more exhibits coming soon and updates continuing across some of our current experiences.
And we’re just getting started! The Exploreum is currently raising funds through our Capital Campaign to complete the rest of the Exploreum, with the goal of opening in 2027 and bringing even more opportunities for hands-on STEAM learning to our community.
